After graduating as MSc in Business Economics at University of Maastricht, Netherlands, Rob started with Cargill as a Commercial Management trainee in 1996 and since then held various positions in Sales, Supply chain, Business Development and General Management within the company. Since February 2019 Rob holds the position of Business Development Director for a subset of Cargill’s Bio Industrial Group markets and technologies focusing on driving growth initiatives through internal development projects and external partnerships. He is based out of the Netherlands. In 2019 Rob became a Governance Board member of the European Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) representing Cargill. Since June 2022 he is the Chairman of the BIC Governance Board and during 2024-2025 he was the Chair of the CBE-JU (Circular Biobased Europe-Joint Undertaking) Governing Board.
